Biomass Energy register for sustainable site development for European regions

BEn is a 3 year European Project carried out from Nov. 2009 to Oct. 2011 by 7 project partners in 4 model regions. Northwoods leads the project in the North East of England, one of the model regions among:

• Emscher-Lippe Region (Germany)

• Umbria Region (Italy)

• The Gostynin Lake District Commune Association (Poland).

The BEn project supports local communities through an easily applicable tool for local energy planning. The core objective of this tool is the development of a regional register indiatiing regional energy sinks and biomass potential for energy production.
