Northwoods was originally established to administer a European and MAFF grant scheme for upland Northumbria in 2000, but in 2003 took on a Region-wide role to support forestry, arboriculture and timber processing businesses.

This support takes a variety of forms, including one-on-one advice sessions, training and information sharing events, signposting those working in the industry to training and funding opportunities and representing the needs and interests of the Regions' tree and timber sector businesses.

Northwoods are also co-ordinating the North East Forestry Web Portal Project, which aims to put all of the Region's forestry and arbor businesses on line. 

www.neforestry.info offers local forestry and timber businesses the opportunity to have a web-presence, enabling them to market their goods and services to a far wider audience.  Read more >>
