NorthwoodsThe North East's Woodland Initiative

Forestry Web Portal

The North East Web portal project is a response to the needs of the Regions' forestry, timber processing and arboriculture businesses for access to straightforward and low-cost e-commerce functions.

The forestry portal offers all those businesses that register a micro-website free, with free design time and permanent listings in the business directory.

The North East Forestry Portal is a web-based project to support the tree and timber sector of the North East England.  The portal is managed by Northwoods and has been funded by a range of Regional partners who realise the value of a well-supported and secure tree and timber sector in the Region.

The portal contains support tools for businesses, as well as functions for anyone who would like to buy products or services from North East tree and timber businesses.  Features include:

  • 3 page micro-site for local businesses
  • Business directory to help you find a local service
  • Vacancy listings for new opportunities
  • CV search for employers
  • Discussion board to share experiences and ask questions
  • Image gallery for north east wood-related pictures

The site is available at  www.neforestry.info.

If you would like to appear on the business listings or set up your own business micro-site, please contact Northwoods to discuss your requirements.  We are keen to hear from any local businesses that are connected to trees, woodlands and wood products.

This is an opportunity for your business to reach thousands more customers searching for goods or services on the internet.  Through regional promotional activities, workshops, weblinks and press coverage, we intend that this forestry portal will become the site of choice for business and the public who are seeking information or guidance on tree and timber related issues, as well as contractors, products and services.
