Northwoods and Forestry Commission North East England, with the support of ONE NorthEast and UK Trade and Investment, organised a wood fuel trade mission to Sweden in early 2005.  The mission was hosted by Svebio, the Swedish bio-energy association, who put together a very comprehensive programme of demonstrations, networking events and company visits.
The mission was specifically focused on the needs and wants of UK businesses who are looking to invest in woodfuel processing and supply, particularly pelletisation, and offered the opportunity to speak to companies working along all sections of the supply chain around Stockholm.  UK Trade and Investment were able to support eligible SME's with a contribution of 50% towards costs. The mission was open to private companies from anywhere in the UK, and public sector organisations were welcome to attend.
