Countryside Stewardship Woodland Options open

July 3, 2015

The series of woodland options under the Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier are now available, and applications have to be in by 31st July.  There are a range of options, including multi-year maintenance payments for woodland crBluebell woodeation, woodland improvement, scrub clearance and bracken control.

The scheme will be jointly run by Natural England, Forestry Commission England and the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) on behalf of Defra. You will need an already approved, or at least an already submitted, woodland management plan to access any of these grants.

If you require advice about the range of grants, or advice about getting an approved management submitted for approval so that you can access the grants in subsequent years please contact Northwoods.  Remember the minimum £1,000 woodland management planning grant, for which all woodlands over 3 ha are eligible, is still available.
