Forestry apprenticeships

August 27, 2013

The Forestry Commission and others are putting additional funding into forestry apprenticeships at present.  This cash is limited and support is likely to reduce next year or earlier if other areas get their hands on it first.  Currently you and or the apprentice are likely to get the following:

•         Free training, a really great range of both training and tickets up to a value of £6000.

•         A golden hello for the employer of between £1500 and £2500.

•         Free food and accommodation at Newton Rigg during formal training.

The apprentice can be any age, (currently, but this will change), and could be currently employed with you.

The above points are stripped down basics of whats available, we can explain this in more detail to individuals and look more specifically at your situation.  As usual conditions apply to this stuff but I’ve tried to keep it simple to start with.
