John Farquhar (BSc) - Project Officer

John comes from a rural background in South Devon, graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Botany from UEA, before starting work for Conservation International and various other organisations throughout the tropics for 5 years on forest resources and biodiversity. On returning to the UK he worked for Forestry Commissions Forest Research on Short Rotation Coppice, after which he moved to Scotland where he was an arboriculture contractor before taking up his position as Projects Officer with Northwoods. His particular responsibilities are for:

• Biomass technologies and the woodfuel supply chain
• Economic analysis of biomass systems and their supply chain
• Woodfuel producer groups
• Forestry resources
• Lantra Awards appprovede instructor on the award winning Ignite woodfuel and supply training courses
