Katarzyna Zielewska (MSc) - Project Manager

Katarzyna comes to Northwoods from a strong forestry background in Poland and Germany. She holds a MSc in Forest Ecology and Management and a M.A. in Geography. Before joining Northwoods Kasia was as a researcher at the Forest Research Institute in Freiburg working on a regional wood supply chain in a large European project "EFORWOOD".

Her second work focus and interest is GIS and remote sensing in forestry. Kasia has practical experience in work with GPS during field inventories and GIS analysis and mapping in Africa and Germany. She also worked for Bavarian Forest National Park and FELIS Transfer Centre as analyst of aerial photographs in forest research.

Currently Kasia is running a European biomass energy project BEn in the North East of England. She is also responsible for Northwoods' GIS applications including fire plans for Northumberland Fire Group and Cumbria Wildfire Group.
